Season October – April

Chartering in Dubai

Dubai's charter season runs October to April. Outside those months the heat makes deck use genuinely uncomfortable rather than merely warm, and most of the quality fleet either repositions or sits idle. If you are being offered a July charter at an attractive rate, that is why.

The standard programme runs the Palm Jumeirah and the World Islands, with the yacht returning to Dubai Marina or Port Rashid overnight. Longer charters head down the coast to Abu Dhabi, or east to the Musandam peninsula in Oman, where the fjord-like inlets are the most dramatic scenery in the region — allow a full day each way.

The fleet skews heavily toward large motor yachts. Sailing is possible but the wind is light and unreliable, and almost nobody charters here for the sailing.

Common questions

When is the best time to charter a yacht in Dubai?
October to April. Temperatures are comfortable and the sea is calm. May through September is too hot for extended deck use.
Can I sail from Dubai to Oman?
Yes. The Musandam peninsula is a popular longer itinerary, roughly a day's cruise each way, and requires the yacht to clear into Omani waters.
