About us
A straight answer about chartering
Yachts Marketplace exists because the first time most people look into chartering a yacht, they cannot get a straight answer to a simple question: what does this actually cost, and what am I actually getting?
The listings are glossy and the numbers are vague. A weekly rate appears without the thirty per cent provisioning allowance sitting behind it. A yacht is described as sleeping twelve without mentioning that two of those berths are crew bunks. Nobody says out loud that August on the Riviera costs nearly double September and is measurably less pleasant.
So we write the guides we wanted before our first charters, and we list yachts with the specifications and the caveats attached. When you are ready to book, we hand you to a charter platform that holds live availability — because a real booking system with real inventory will serve you better than a form on a website.
How we work
Four things we hold to
Real yachts, verified specifications
Every listing is a real production model with specifications taken from builder data and partner listings. We do not invent boat names, and we do not publish a precise price we cannot stand behind — charter rates are labelled as indicative starting figures because that is what they are.
The costs stated up front
Charter pricing is quoted as a base rate, and the base rate is not what you pay. APA, VAT, delivery fees and gratuities are real money. We put them in the guides rather than leaving them to surface in a contract three weeks later.
Honest about how we earn
Some links here pay us a commission. It is disclosed in the footer, above every outbound link, and in full on a dedicated page. No owner or operator can pay for coverage, placement or a kinder description.
Advice that includes 'not yet'
Sometimes the right answer is a smaller boat, a different month, or waiting a season. A guide that only ever says yes is worthless to a reader — and, eventually, to a partner too.

The brokerage desk
Alongside charter, we handle brokerage directly: yachts for sale with full specifications, service history and arranged viewings. If you are buying or considering a sale, that is a conversation rather than a listing page.
How we are paid
Two ways, and there is no third. Charter links earn a referral commission from the booking platform, paid out of their margin — the price you see is the price you would pay going direct. Brokerage sales are remunerated on completion in the ordinary way for the industry.
We do not sell advertising, we do not take payment for editorial coverage, and we do not accept placement fees. The full detail is on our affiliate disclosure page.
